Mr. McGill has been President of both Synectics, Inc. and Synectics Transportation Consultants Inc. since their inception. He has been successfully practicing transportation and safety engineering in the private sector for the last 7 years. He has over 23 years of experience in the transportation field in both the private and public sectors.

His public sector experience includes 4 years as the Director of Transportation and Operations for the Borough of East York and 10 years with the Ministry of Transportation, Ontario. Mr. McGill not only understands the state-of-the-art of safety engineering science and how it is presently used in practice, but also illustrates that he can envision the future applications of this science.

Not only has Mr. McGill become a recognized safety expert in Ontario, but he has shown he has maintained his working knowledge in the traffic engineering field by becoming one of the first group of 10 engineers in Canada to obtain his Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (P.T.O.E.) designation from the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). Mr. McGill has been a licensed P.Eng. in Ontario since 1982. He is a Member of ITE (Transportation Safety Council Member, Toronto Section President, 1988-89, CITE Conference Chair, Toronto, 1990, District 7, Canada, President, 1996-97), a Member of Transportation Research Board (Member, Safety Data, Analysis and Evaluation Committee), a Member, Consulting Engineers of Ontario (Niagara Region Chapter Chairman, 1998-99), a Member, Transportation Association of Canada (Road-Safety Sub-Committee), a Member, Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals, a Member, Canadian Accident Traffic Accident Investigation and Reconstructionists, and a Member, Ontario Traffic Conference. Last year, Mr. McGill was invited by Canadian Institute of Transportation Engineers (CITE) to represent Canada at the ITE’s Coordinating Council.
